Sleeping Behemoth by Bob Wall

Currently unavailable for purchase

I went out to Alviso for a walk about and shoot yesterday and they had the parking lot and some of the trails blocked off. One of them by this monster. Seeing it in near silhouette made me think of a sleeping giant, waiting for its people to come back and help it feed on whatever earth its moving.

I don’t normally like sepia toning, but I felt like a little bit worked for this shot.

I’ll shoot anything that catches my eye, but I love it when somebody says “I never looked at it that way before” or even just a little “ooooh”. If I can make you stop and say “hmm”, that’s the best. I normally use minimal processing; a little bump in color and/or contrast, maybe a little cropping. But sometimes I just can’t resist the urge to play with an image.
