Hangar door 12 at the former Naval Air Station in Alameda, California. Never would have looked this grubby when the navy was still here. I am surprised there are so few windows broken though.
Roaming around some of my old stomping grounds from my youth, many, many years ago. A lot of private businesses and city facilities have moved onto the base, but there are still a few reminders of the navy days. The U.S.S. Hornet (retired aircraft carrier) is now a museum with aircraft and spacecraft recovery displays. A few other old navy ships and one or two still active use the docks, but the bas as it was no longer exists. Used to be some great night life on Webster Street when the fleet was in, Friday and Saturday nights especially. I lived above a head shop, across the street from the biggest, baddest sailor bar in town.
