Tree of Celebration by

This tree is located in the median of interstate 49 just south of Shreveport, Louisiana. I couldn’t find anything on the history of the tree. My husband says it has been there for years and used to be tended by someone. There used to be lights that were lit 24 hours per day by a 12 volt car battery that sat at the foot of the tree. Christmas decorations, MardiGras beads and other decorations cover the tree with new being added quite often. The tree no longer glows at night but it still stands as perhaps a roadside memorial for someone or just a festive spot in an otherwise boring ride on the highway.
