Luna Park – Sydney

When I was about 5 or so, our family went to Luna Park and I wouldn’t walk under the face coz the eyes scared the bejesus outta me! I bawled and bawled and I can remember the old guy at the entrance letting us in through a side gate coz there was no way I was going under those eyes. I kept looking back at those scary eyes and kept freaking out at them. Man, they are still scary! But I can walk under the face these days! ;-))

Of course, this is best viewed LARGE.

That thing is creepy. It looks like it wants to eat my soul.

  • Yes, keep away from it Matthew, I had loads of garlic hanging around my neck, (it keeps the tourists away as well)!

LOL. I didn’t even want to click on the other images of that thing, but I had to for comedy’s sake.

  • I hope you liked them Matthew

What an amazing take on a Sydney icon. Definitely gives it a eerie feel. Looks like I am not the only one who thinks of it this way. Great shot!

  • Thanks mate, glad to know I’m not alone in thinking this thing is a freakout.

Oh it is a loveable face – been there for yonks and hasn’t swalloed a kid whole yet (that anyone will admit to, anyhow!!). Great shot of one of our harbour icons Bryan.

  • Rosalie, you know it has eaten many, many children over the years and they know about these things. Adults forget. ;-)
