I really think these outdoor heaters are the biggest waste of energy! How can anyone justify putting a heater on a wall on the outside of a building and then turning it on?? It is simply ludicrous for this to be happening and then to have people bleating on about Greenhouse Gases while sipping their lattes underneath one of these and discussing just how much energy they will save during “Earth Hour” next year! Or using those re-useable plastic bags all the supermarkets are selling now coz it will lessen their carbon footprint. Like, wow, man, and that heater being turned on all day and into the night is going to negate everything you and all the people walking past all day and all week will do!
Are these heaters really necessary? Do they do any good? Do you really nead a pissant little heater like this to warm the top of your head while you sip a hot coffee and pretend the heat is reaching you and making you warmer? Why are you still wearing that great big overcoat if that’s the case? Why not stay there all frickin freezin day if you’re so warm and toasty?
The government is going to introduce a carbon tax. Will it stop morons installing these devices?? NO!
Will it stop people from sitting under them pretending these pissant heaters are warming them?? NO!
And YES the heaters that use LPG (ie; portable gas heaters) are just as bad for the environment!
Rant over now…think I’ll go piss into the wind!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly the human race needs to take a long, cold hard look at itself….then give itself one huge uppercut for being so stupendously stupid!
O-Oh, I feel another rant coming on and it’s about that Earth Hour thingy….does that really save any energy? Coz, the power stations are still chuggin’ away, burning coal by the mega-ton just waiting for everyone to flick the switch back on all at once and overload the generators instantaneously. I mean, do the generators actually burn less coal for those sixty minutes? If so, how much less? I’ve never ever seen any figures in support of this Earth- hour nonsense. No, I’ve never participated mainly because these questions have never been adequately answered. Also, I’ve been using back-packs and re-usable bags for shopping for the last 25 years plus cycling everywhere or going by public transport so I figure I’ve done my bit for the planet and one hour of not having an energy saving light globe on isn’t going to amount to much. Especially if the generators are still burning coal at the normal rate.

So true but pee downwind it’s safer
Bryan Freeman:
Yes, I probably will do that but the rest of the human race isn’t…. or so it seems sometimes.

Well said Bryan, thats a lot to think about and question:)
Bryan Freeman:
Thanks Michelle. It is a lot of questions and none adequately answered which is why i had a little rant about it. :-)
