D.C. in the rain by

I shot this photo with my 35mm Pentax-K-1000. I was in Washington D.C. at the time and the photo took place about 1000 feet from the famous reflecting pool. I found this women to be interesting to watch. She was just standing alone in the cold rain for at least 45 minutes and it appeared as if she didn’t know where she was and had no opinion about anything except the desire to stand in the cold rain. I imported the photo into photoshop where i manipulated the picture to become more of an illustration. If I had my pen and pad i would have sketched her initially because she reminded me of still life fruit. She didn’t move and it would have been easy to take my time drawing her, but all i had was my camera so I tried my best to create a sketch of her, since it was my initial impulse.
