I joined red bubble as a writing artist of Australian bush poetry. This is somewhat, a passion of mine. I have often been told by friends to do something with it, but that was not why I wrote. I discovered Red Bubble in my cyber travels and thought, “Why Not?” and here I am; for better, or for worse to the art.
I have to say that I am sadly disillusioned in respect to the writing interaction that this site generates. The many styles, the international flavour which generates cultural differences, is certainly a draw back in the writing field such as I am involved, but red bubble is not as it was portrayed to me, but rather a photgraphers clique.
As much as photography turns stunning results for the visual sensory glands, it fails in many ways to inspire and excite the intelectual sensors of the mind as writing has done for centuries.
In fact, it in many ways is like television, it kills emotion whilst momentarily exciting superfluous feelings and then jumps to the next visual drug. At no time allowing an absorbtion of understanding and knowledge.
I am, like most in this day of digital wizardry, an opportunist photographer that prefers to catch the moment as I live it, rather than set the scene.
I profess no skill as such, just moments caught in time.
I personally have no driving interest in intentional photographic manipulation to enhance a shot. Having said that, the art on red bubble because of this modern technological ability, is stunning, but to me it is just that, art, not moments in time. I’m a fan of raw, real time photography, with all its foibles.
I apologise to those that followed my writings, but my poetry has been deleted, as, after deliberating at length, I do no longer consider this wonderful site for photograhic art, as one for that of a writer .
Happy to respond to any questions.
