Part of a series of ‘my first camera’ (Kodak era) shots taken in my youth.
The Fab Four miming The Beatles’ ‘I want to hold your hand!’ (with hand on end of long stick … get it?) and taking a pot shot at the new Beatle haircuts. ‘Moptops’ … as they were (later semi-affectionately) described after first being derided for their non-conformist and ‘revolutionary length’.
Digitalised from a Kodachrome slide image taken, circa 1963, of a Services Club-entered, parade float (either Apex or Rotary) … which was part of a festival procession cruising through the streets of a then sleepy central Queensland (sugar) cane town.
Beyond the ‘Beatle suits’, check out the country fashions of the time … some still evident today!
