Blood From A Stone

she’s an artist sculpting my life within her realm
a self-seeking queen and pawns who dream
a free-spirit soul with no goal
bleeding heart, captive mind, for quite some time
and i’m sure she doesn’t even care
more or less of me there would never really change her independant solitary way
drawing blood from a stone, living lies and alone
crossing paths on a wilderness road
drawing blood from a stone, sketching smiles with dark tones
and creating a dream of her own

Blood From A Stone by

Lyrics from a song I wrote about a good friend that I used to work for in her art studio in Buffalo, NY. She was in her early 30’s, very attractive, and guys were always falling in love with her; but freedom was the most important thing to her. She lives in New Orleans now, still has her freedom, and we still keep in touch.
There are 2 versions of this song on the CD’s: “Change The World” and “The Road Ahead.”
