No Fear! by

What am amazing feeling it is to confront your fears and “go for it!”

I’m so proud of my two girls, who picked up this live crab, legs writhing and claws ready to pinch!

I think one of the most valuable lessons you can teach your children is that there are really very few things in life you need to be afraid of; you just need to know how to tackle them. (Something I’m still learning myself!)

This image is a bit of an experiment for me. I blurred a grey-scale copy of the original image and clone-brushed the crab back over from the original.

i agree about the whole fear factor concept. the only thing i am afraid of still is spiders, that will never change. i am glad she overcame her fear! great photo.

    Thanks for your comments, everyone!

candid – I managed to get my eldest daughter to hold a house spider once. I had to let it crawl all over my hand and up my arm, pretending this didn’t bother me first before she was convinced it wouldn’t bite her! A few months later, both daughters and my wife held a tarantula at a show!

I love what you have done Bruce! I know exactly why you have blured the image of your daughter, as you also appreciate, it is exactly how I am feeling right now and havn’t settled down yet with the drenolin.
Well thought out and thanks for being so thoughtful!
