Paint Shop Pro 7 vs. PhotoShop? by Bruce Halliburton

Posted on September 12, 2007

Hello Bubblers!

I am a fond user of Paintshop Pro 7, which I have had for several years now and it seems to do most things I want it to.

Everyone on this site seems to use Adobe’s offering though and I was wondering if anyone has had experience of using both packages?

I am thinking about upgrading to the latest version of Paintshop Pro, but I’m wondering if Photoshop could be a better choice?

Please share your thoughts!

I’ve been using PSPro since shareware version 3!!! Currently using PSProX. There’s a new version PSPro Photo X2 which I’m considering currently. You can upgrade from PSPro7 okay for around USD $60.

….to continue, I had Adobe PS 7 for a long time on my machine but rarely glanced at it to be honest. I honestly don’t feel that I ever missed a great deal by continuing to stick with PaintShopPro. I now also use Corel Painter X of course over the past 3 years and now use both programs constantly in my work.

    Thanks, ArtAfresh.

I also used the old shareware version and at the time Photoshop was no way as good.

I’m wondering if this is still the case?

Photoshop seems to be the industry standard, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best!

I don’t know PS is the industry standard for a reason… try CS the adobe bridge is great for navigating large amounts of pics
