5 Pointz, located in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens, New York City, is considered to be the world’s premiere “graffiti Mecca.” I wanted to capture the entire expanse of this side of the building without any distortion. However due to the close proximity of other structures, I could only back away about forty feet. To overcome this limitation I took hundreds of individual shots of the facade, and then meticulously pieced them together digitally correcting them for any warping. The end result is an extremely high resolution image, from a perfect architectural perspective, that would be impossible to achieve otherwise.
