The Eyes of the Isis Cat
When I was flatting with a friend we had a beautiful Egyptian cat called Isis who was super intelligent and had these incredible green eyes that followed us everywhere. She used them the most to stalk her prey… tins of cat food opened by us! These intelligent breeds of cat are not silly are they! They know how to crack the whip and get the human slaves working for them.
Inside this sleek and pointed head,
My eyes are luminous green,
They’re watching every move you make,
They’re accurate and keen
They watch you at the bench top,
They watch you to the fridge,
They watch you taking tin cans out,
And opening up the lids
They watch you everywhere you go,
Especially in the kitchen,
They want to see just what you’ve got,
Fish or lamb or chicken
But when it’s time to go to bed,
That’s when they seek your lap,
And they close inside my pointed head,
So I can take my nap

Thanks. Yep, the eyes seemed to be the whole cat! She was always following everything, nutting it all out.
