Chipping Campden UK Market Hall collage by

This gorgeous village is so enchanting with the warmth of the centuries old Cotswold stone extending down both sides as far as the eye can see. The Market Hall is a particular feature in the centre of the village and as it has been the heart of the local trade for hundreds of years; the stories it could tell.

As the plaque included in the collage explains, this market hall was built in 1627 by Sir Baptist Hicks, later Baron Hicks of Ilmington and Viscount Campden, for the sale of local produce. It was bought from the Noel family for the National Trust in 1942, and has since been reroofed by the Trust in the traditional manner.

Although I am still a babe in the woods when it comes to the technical side, I have loved photography most of my life, and it’s wonderful to get that occasional great shot I feel very proud of, for the hundreds of just ‘nice’ ones. I get quite excited at the prospect of visiting some places these days because of the great photos I just might get, if I’m lucky.
