QVB Sydney magnificent gallery detail by BronReid

QVB Sydney magnificent gallery detail by

This area is on the Western side of the central section of the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney, the arcades cover several levels and are the length of a city block, so it is not easy to do justice to the full length of any arcade. The entrances in the middle are given special attention as this suggests, and present a magnificent celebration of the wonderful arts movements that emerged in the later Victorian era, evolving into what we know as the Art Nouveau period.

Featured in: Fountains, Wrought Iron and Gates etc group, with thanks.

Although I am still a babe in the woods when it comes to the technical side, I have loved photography most of my life, and it’s wonderful to get that occasional great shot I feel very proud of, for the hundreds of just ‘nice’ ones. I get quite excited at the prospect of visiting some places these days because of the great photos I just might get, if I’m lucky.

Congratulations! Your photo has been featured in “Fountains, Wrought Iron & Gates etc.”

This photo was chosen because it was of a very high quality and it captured exactly the sort of work we are looking for in this group.

Please keep up the great work and we hope you continue to add more of your excellent photographs to this group.

  • Thank you so much for the feature, that’s very kind. It really does support the concept of ‘iron lace’ in this view I feel. Bron

An absolutely exquisite photograph of a mind-blowingly beautiful place. Your lighting is just perfect. Can’t get over all of the beautiful ironwork, not to mention the window treatment. Ahhhh.

  • Wow, I am humbled by your very kind feedback, thank you so much, and for the feature as well. Yes, it is a very beautiful building, I’m so glad they brought it back to its former glory. Bron
