Ramatuelle, Provence, France, old house entrance by

This medieval village in the hills above the Mediterranean oozes charm, warmth and beauty in every direction. This is my favourite view from a group of several very pretty entrances to houses in a small courtyard area in the heart of the village.

Although I am still a babe in the woods when it comes to the technical side, I have loved photography most of my life, and it’s wonderful to get that occasional great shot I feel very proud of, for the hundreds of just ‘nice’ ones. I get quite excited at the prospect of visiting some places these days because of the great photos I just might get, if I’m lucky.

Beautiful … love the mellow stone :)

  • Ha! You are something else! You’ve found the one I refer to in the other response on the lovely window in St Tropez, I think we’re on the same wavelength eh? I thoroughly recommend Ramatuelle for a visit with a camera, it is incredibly pretty, I think more photo ops per square metre there than anywhere I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying something! Bron

lol .. just added to Ramatuelle to my “dream places to visit” list … I’m thinking we have similar wavelengths too … lol :)

  • For the record it’s up the hills behind St Tropez, so keep that in mind next time, and St Tropez old town is also beautiful, a friend of ours grew up there. Provence is another wonderland in its own right, believe me. We should swap more ideas again some time. I’ve been looking at the Paris Pass. Have u used it? Looks like you’d have to do a whirlwind tour of big places to get your money’s worth? What price convenience perhaps. They still sell carnets?

yes … I love Provence … we were lucky enough to spend a few days there (not nearly long enough – lol ;)
Adored the village called: L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (full of antique shops)

We did get a Paris Pass … but I realised:
It was NOT the Paris Pass – rather the Paris Museum Pass

We got the 4 day Paris Museum Pass for (48 Euro)
    - highlights for us, using the pass were: not having to stand around in long Queues – lol / Versailles and the Trianon / Musée Rodin / Musée du Louvre / Musée d’Orsay / Notre-Dame / Arc de Triomphe (open late) … to name just a few :)

Also if you like French Markets, check out Les Puces de Paris Saint-Ouen:
I found this market amazing :)

Ooooo – Thinking about Paris makes me want to book a flight and start packing – lol :)

This is wonderful, Bron. I would love to see it in our Cottage Living group.

  • Thanks, Marjorie, well if you think it’s a good idea, who am I to argue? Will do. Many thanks! It’s one of my favourite captures from that gorgeous village. Bron

One village I am going to put on my list…………………I have been to the South of France was the past five years and I do try to add a new village or two each time………………………..this is just beautiful Bron………………..Joyce

  • yes, a delightful town, Fara, there are so many beautiful places to see down that way. If you haven’t been to Entrevaux on the River Var, then I urge you to have a look, that’s a stunning mediaeval village in the bend of the river, with citadel at the top. Well worth a visit, and Le Castellet, another, St Paul, St Paul de Vence…. sigh…. Bron X

  • thank you, John, it was one of those places that had beautiful photo ops in every direction but still relatively out of the way compared to many places in Provence..
