Tynwald Oast House—New Norfolk, Tasmania by

Another photograph from the archives. This image was captured in October 2010 at New Norfolk in Tasmania’s Derwent Valley. This old oast house near Tynwald Park on the River Derwent speaks to the past cultivation of hops, for beer brewing, in the New Norfolk area. Even today, hops production is a significant agricultural industry in the Derwent Valley, in locations such as Bushy Park, a fifteen minute drive from New Norfolk.

    Wonderful detail Brett.

  • Thanks, James. This was taken with the first Rollei TLR I bought, an immaculate Rolleicord V, which got me started on the Rollei adventure. The Xenar lens is a very sweet bit of glass isn’t it?
