Hobart’s Victoria Dock, close to the city centre of the state capital, is home base for much of the city’s fishing fleet. It is next to Constitution Dock, in the Sullivan Cove area of the River Derwent. In the background behind the dock the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery complex is visible.
As seen on a sunny spring day in 2010. The camera used was my early model circa 1959 Voigtländer Bessamatic 35mm SLR which was fitted with its Voigtländer Color Skopar 50mm f2.8 standard lens. The image was captured on Kodak Kodachrome 64 35 mm transparency film, and was K-14 processed by Dwaynes Photo of Parsons, Kansas, USA just before they shut down the world’s last K-14 line for good. This was my last ever roll of Kodachrome. As far as I have been able to establish, I was the last person in Tasmania to use Kodachrome before its demise. Sadly, this is an image that can now never be repeated.
