Stone for the construction of Hobart’s Government House was quarried on site. Subsequent to construction the old quarry found new purpose as an ornamental pond and is a feature of the propertys extensive grounds. As far as I can tell from a distance, the boat is a lovely little Huon pine design. It’s usually tied up in the pond on open days, so I’ll have to try and get a colour image of it next time as well.
This photograph was made during an official open day in February 2012 with my Zeiss Ikon Contaflex 35mm single lens reflex. The Contaflex was fitted with a magazine back loaded with Kodak Tri-X Pan black and white film and the lens was a Carl Zeiss 85mm f/4 Pro Tessar with Carl Zeiss hood and Carl Zeiss UV filter. I processed the film in ILFORD ID-11 developer.
