You have to make the best of photo opportunities when they arise, so, when I noticed a Porsche 911 pull up as I waited for my spouse to return from a shopping errand, I decided to see if I could manage a couple of images. A supermarket car park is not the easiest of places to compose a decent photograph, as backgrounds are almost invariably busy, and uninspiring, but this one didn’t come out too bad all things considered.
It was taken with my Rolleiflex 2.8C twin lens reflex which is fitted with a Schneider Xenotar 80mm f/2.8 taking lens. The reduced depth of field the medium format provides compared to smaller formats (digital or film) helped to minimise background distractions.
Recorded on Kodak TMAX 100 black and white roll film and home processed in ILFORD ID-11 developer for 17 minutes at 20 C.
