Tyrone Biggums (Dave Chappelle) in the Tenderloin by

The original is 9×12 inch charcoal drawing on smooth Bristol paper by Brittni DeWeese that has been sealed with a workable fixative. It is in a 13×16 inch frame. It is of Dave Chappelle’s character, Tyrone Biggums. It is a representation of DeWeese’s previous hood, the Tenderloin.

I love to create realism work with charcoal because I love the dramatic look of deep black and bright white; love the contrast! I create my work with paintbrushes instead of blending stumps/sticks. My favorite imagery to draw is anything vintage/antique in appearance or striking photos with dramatic lighting! I do dabble into other areas nevertheless. I like to either find my photo references from flea markets and antique shops, or take my own photos so they are truly unique.
