One More Step To Rishikesh... by Simon Groves

One More Step To Rishikesh... by

“Errr….John, didn’t you say Maharishi had been born again?”

“Ringo, don’t ask me such daft questions…I am dead don’t you know!”

“But John, death is not real…. Maharishi said so!!!…”

“Ohhhh Ringo….!!!!”

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The title “One More Step To Rishikesh” is a personal one for me; I am using the place name “Rishikesh” to represent complete Enlightenment…. What a goal!!! Enlightenment is correctly defined as meaning "posessing a nervous system that is so completely cultured to perfection that NO SADNESS, NO GRIEF, NO SUFFERING, NO ANGER and nothing negative can occur within or affect the mind….. it is COMPLETE HAPPINESS with no possibility of anything less…….

Today, right now, I wish that for you, and for me…always. Once gained the state of complete enlightenment is irreversable eternally….

The path to it is “practice”…. well…. it is a practice if we wish to go the accelerated way…

We are all here to get to enlightenment…. and enlightenment and the finding of it…the “getting there one way or another”, being the core meaning of life…well…..the Rishis and Seers and sages ALL say that ALL OF US are headed that way and will make it to that beautiful, beautiful, state of perpetual bliss…..

As Maharishi Mahesh Yogi said once, this is not some romantic talk…“this is no joke!” …isn’t that of some reassurance?

Rishikesh (Hindi: ऋषिकेश), also spelled Hrishikesh, Rushikesh, or Hrushikesh, is a city and a municipal board in Dehradun district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is located in the foothills of the Himalaya in northern India and attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists each year, from within India, as well as from other countries. Rishikesh is also known as “Teerth Nagri” or “Yog Nagri”, that is City of Temples, Yoga and Meditation

It is also known as the gateway to the Himalayas and is located around 25 kilometres away from another holy city, Haridwar.

Rishikesh is the place the Beatles travelled to to meet their yogi guru, Maharishi Mahesh…..

My work is eclectic, pychological and profound and hopefully, attractive and beautiful for hanging on your wall… or sticking on your iPhone as a case… enjoy!
