Dear Jenny... Where's John? by Simon Groves

So much inspiration…But then… Boom!… Where did it go?

Holding back sometimes instead of always rushing at ones own passion… tolerating and observing one’s own passion, and not focussing on this all consuming feeling of passionate human love….

We get so heated with our desire to find “it”…sometimes we need to dive in to the water for to cool down!

Take strength men, take heart women, things have changed! :)))

HDR notes:

Each aspect of the image the writing, the ink and pen, the paper background, the horse..each spearate elements brought together…each was worked up with several layers made of each to change tones and colours and unify all of them together. There is no HDR software used in making the image…yet considerable layered High Dynamic Range development as a matter of course… this is just the way i work in digital and Oil paint, both.

Things Have Changed!
(Bob Dylan)

A worried man with a worried mind
No one in front of me and nothing behind
There’s a woman on my lap and she’s drinking champagne…
That white skin’s got assassin’s eyes
I’m looking up into the sapphire tinted skies
I’m well dressed, waiting on the last train

Standing on the gallows with my head in a noose
Any minute now I’m expecting all hell to break loose

People are crazy and times are strange
I’m locked in tight, I’m out of range
I used to care, but things have changed

This place ain’t doing me any good
I’m in the wrong town, I should be in Hollywood
Just for a second there I thought I saw something move…

Gonna take dancing lessons do the jitterbug rag
Ain’t no shortcuts, gonna dress in drag..
Only a fool in here would think he’s got anything to prove..

Lot of water under the bridge, Lot of other stuff too
Don’t get up gentlemen, I’m only passing through

I’ve been walking forty miles of bad road
If the bible is right, the world will explode
I’ve been trying to get as far away from myself as I can,

Some things are too hot to touch
The human mind can only stand so much
You can’t win with a losing hand

Feel like falling in love with the first woman I meet
Putting her in a wheel barrow and wheeling her down the street

I hurt easy, I just don’t show it
You can hurt someone and not even know it
The next sixty seconds could be like an eternity
Gonna get low down, gonna fly high
All the truth in the world adds up to one big lie
I’m love with a woman who don’t even appeal to me

Mr. Jinx and Miss Lucy, they jumped in the lake
I’m not that eager to make a mistake

I love this! I’m curious about your process. Photo manipulation? A photo period? It’s really superb whatever it is. ;-)

  • Debi thank you very much! :) I will post the original photos alongside the page.

Great image but please would you supply some more info on the HDR process you used. For example – how many exposures, software used, tonemapping, etc. Then please re-submit so that we can add the image to HDR Photography (3 Photos per 24hr-day) MUST INCLUDE HDR DETAILS. Thank you and you can delete this comment if you wish.

  • Thank you Philip!

Wow that is quite a process Simon! The end result is wonderful! Love this!

  • Thank you Robin… I enjoyed the work on this…especialy the horse which came as a result of the music I added first…which had “horse” in the title…. I work and ideas come along from outside almost too…. I’m really glad you like it!
