Fading Cone by

Purple Coneflower
Echinacea purpurea

I’ve photographed this cone flower countless times over the past month, but wasn’t satisfied with a single pic. I thought I missed my chance. As it could be weeks before I visit the gardens again, I decided to photograph it one last time. Even in death’s throes, I think it’s defiantly beautiful.

About Briar Richard

The observable Universe sprang into existence 13.7 billion years ago, and has evolved to observe itself. In my opinion, there’s no greater event to consider. I enjoy astronomy, photography, and precious time with my wife and little boy. While capturing and editing photos, I jam to The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Air Supply, LMFAO, Foo Fighters, REM, Barry Manilow, Dr. Dre, Snoop, Duran Duran, Weezer, The Flaming Lips, U2, Boyz to Men, Pearl Jam, Peter Gabriel, Queen, and The Beach Boys.

I agree, very beautiful! Perfect b/w. Have you added this to Nature’s Symphony of Trees and Flowers? There is a challenge going on that this would be perfect for, too:-)

  • Very belated thanks, Sheri!
