One of a pair of watercolours I painted which celebrate carefree childhood. They take me back to when summer days lasted forever while we fished for tiddlers in the Wansbeck river in Northumberland. It’s nice to see kids still enjoying the same pleasures. Happy days!

The original picture was 16″ × 12″

the lighting is fantastic, and so is your water!

  • Thanks Douglas, that’s very encouraging. This with it’s companion picture, is burried in my back pages which I guess are rarely visited, so it was nice to see that you found it and liked it.
The darkness of the water looked a bit menacing for kids to be paddling so the figures in the background were, apart from filling spaces, to show the water wasn’t deep and dangerous.
