Beautifully done, as always… actually, I think you’re getting better – if that’s possible!! Good to see you stay busy..
Brian Towers replied
Why thank yer mam! It’s taken me 75 years and I’m still larnin’. Guess that might keep me around for a bit longer. So pleased to see you active again Barb and hope the treatment is going well.
Hidemi Tada

Brian Towers replied
How kind of you Pat, thank you my friend.
Jim Phillips
Really fine details Brian. Flesh tones look to be right on the money. Very good work.
Brian Towers replied
Thank your Jim I appreciate that very much.
BLYTHART
Every time I think you have reached your peak, you climb even higher … your recent portraits, including this one, have all been remarkable.
Brian Towers replied
We used to hill climb a lot in our younger days and always found that the peak we had been aiming for was never the top as there always seemed to be another hidden from view. I reckon there are a lot more peaks to aim for in the art world too. My thanks Dave.
Linda Callaghan
it is such a beautiful portrait Brian and such a radiant glowing expression that you have captured perfectly. What a pretty lady! Another more than satisfied customer I am sure! :-D
Brian Towers replied
Where would so many of us be without your words of encouragement Linda? Your kind nature always shows in your comments. Many thanks.
Simon Aberle
This is so beautiful Brian
Brian Towers replied
Thanks Simon – such comments encourage me to keep going.
ISMAIL ALAOUI ...

Brian Towers replied
Thanks Peter. I’m a great admirer of you loco’ paintings – look forward to seeing more.
TomWard
Excellent!
Brian Towers replied
Many thanks Tom. Peter up there shares your passion for loco’s and I must say the two of you are top rate painters of the subject.
paul boast
not seen you around for a long while , great portrait
Brian Towers replied
Hi Paul and thanks. While I haven’t been putting much on rb – about two a month – I know that rb has a problem in not getting images to all those who have us on their watchlist so we tend to ‘disappear’ now and then.
Noelene Davies
Wow, this is stunning Brian.
Brian Towers replied
Thank you Noelene – you are a lovely lady.
MyheART
fantastic portrait:)
Brian Towers replied
Many thanks Robin. I see you are a productive artist with a great sense of colour and design. Very impressive,
GEORGE SANDERSON
I saw this one yesterday, Brian it is quite simply, SUPERB !!!
Lillian was over the moon .
ps I had a comment on my Portoon, from Barbara Keith and she agrees with eveyone, It is Brilliant !
Brian Towers replied
Thanks George – I guess if owe you another one. Yes, I was very pleased to see Barb is getting back to rb despite her cancer treatment. And by the email funnies she sends she still has her sense of humour. Another feature for you I see, great stuff!
Rayven
wow, that’s really good. Shows alot of presonality
Brian Towers replied
I see we share an interest in portraiture Rayven so your comment is especially appreciated.
TomWard
(edit: all your drawings are awesome Brian, but I particularly enjoy your humour in cartoons as well. What a portfolio of artistic and witty talent!)
Cheers, Bro!
Brian Towers replied
I shall go to bed a happier man tonight Tom. I tend to send my cartoons off to the bottom drawer after a while so it’s nice of you to dig deep and find them. I never take myself too seriously, life’s too short not to have a good chuckle.
mikeloughlin
We’ll have to call you “The Commissioner” from now on. Brilliant work.
Brian Towers replied
I’ve been called a ** artist in my time Mike but never reached the heights of Commissioner. Actually I charge so little for these 8 hour jobs but I still don’t get swamped with work. I still get time to do the odd landscape and cartoon for ‘myself’ which suits me just fine. Many thanks Mike and hope all is going well for you.
Lynda Robinson
You are doing so well with commissions Brian! You have got a wonderful formula of mixed media happening and your technique is truly superb! You make all your portraits looks so effortless! I am green with envy at your amazing skill Mr. Towers.
Brian Towers replied
I echo my reply to Mike above Lynda – folk arn’t exactly beating a path to my door, but the balance is right for me and I like to have plenty of time for my own urges – well the arty ones anyway! No, I don’t find portriats easy and often think of packing them in as I so often struggle. When eventually finished there is almost as much satisfaction in getting them accepted than getting paid – but just almost.
Mrs Robinson, your are a gem…..and pin-up.
tom burke
what a talent, your work is reality, I’m impressed
Brian Towers replied
That’s very kind of you Tom, thank you. Your art interest is fascinating. I’ve never tried scrimshaw but have seen some remarkable examples, mainly from seafarers of long ago. Nice to see it still been created. Hope you’re stockes of materials don’t run out.
Woodie
I’m sorry I missed seeing this in the flesh on Friday. Prefection as usual.
I’m back on line as you can see
Cheers Neil
(PS Rita and I loved the blackberries)
Brian Towers replied
Glad to see you back in the land of communications again Neil. Gotta say that if anyone is reading this the blackberries are the fruity kind not phones. I’ll not say what the raspberries were.
Thanks Neil – hope Rita is improving.
Simon Aberle
Brian Towers replied
Thanks Simon, you’ve made my day.
madvlad
are you any relation to faultee towers or own it? good show! love brit night!, nice art too your a cracker jack art faces
Brian Towers
Pleased to say I’m no relation Madvlad, there’s enough crazy behaviour in our family already. Just read all your very generous comments on what I call my daubs (making marks on paper) and can’t say how much I appreciate it my friend.
roseart
This is just amazing Brian! I have just made myself a big fan of yours, putting you on my watch list. I’m new to RedBubble. So I have a lot of fine artists to browse through!
Brian Towers replied
Many thanks Rose and welcome to RB – with your talent I’m sure you’ll be building up a big following. I haven’t had a chance to look through your work yet but that will be a treat when I do.
Karen Hull
Brian another wonderul portrait – I love how you combine pastels, watercolours and pencils to such great effect – I must try that – fantastic!!! xx
Brian Towers replied
They say ‘If it ain’t bust, don’t try to fix it’ – you’ve mastered your techniqe to perfection Karen so I’d stick with it. I used oils for portraits for quite a while then found pastels much quicker and, when they work, gave better results – but that’s just me.
Les Smutz
This is one of my favorites of yours…great expression and you’ve captured her personality.
Brian Towers replied
Funny how we judge our own work – I didn’t quite feel happy with this one…but pleased Lillian was. Many thanks Les.
davpea1
fantastic work, i love the highlights and shadow that really lifts this piece off the page outstanding detail well done my friend. hope things are good with you
Brian Towers
Most kind of you Davpea. I greatly appreciate that from such a creative artist. I always look forward to seeing your great work – the products of a fantastic imagination.
