Road to Rothbury
Stopping for a call of nature on a car trip, I came across this springtime farm scene which appealed. The ‘comfort call’ was for a 5 year-old by the way, but hey, at my age one never missing an opportunity.
Oil on canvas.

Excellent gentle rural painting – Rothbury has both gentle and rough.
I really like the detail on the ponies, creating a 3-D effect.
A fine painting, Brian.
Brian Towers replied
Thanks Colin, This is a tiny hamlet called Fenrother – now where else would you find a name like that but in Geordie-land. I must admit that I nearly always strive for that 3rd dimension illusion.
Hidemi Tada
Wow, so beautiful. I wish i could paint such an excellent landscape.
Brian Towers replied
And how i wish i could match you with your great classical paintings Hidemi.

Really a fine work of art. A very beautiful and peaceful scene. Well done. ( Of course you could have included the back side of the 5 year old while he was interacting with nature.)
Brian Towers replied
Now Jim, how did you guess I cropped my picture when my wife said ‘Get that bum outta here.’ Many thanks for you comment Jim.
