ocean flip

My first model shoot in the open ocean. not the cleanest water, but we still had fun. Think I need to take a trip to warm – super clean water, any ideas?

would love to check out the cayman islands, a little far from australia though. I think we have some clean, warm water up north on the barrier reef…..need to do some research.

I think I would title this one “Creation” because that’s what it looks like. Very nicely done here. Cleaner water would have ruined it completely. :)

thx tracy. good title, may use it for another image from this shoot. I love clean, clear images – that is why I want clear water.

Awesome photo! You mentioned in your description if anyone knew of a better local I would have to say Cayman Brac. 200ft + viz and very warm water.

  • brentmail replied

cayman islands sound good. just got back from hawaii about a month ago and I liked the big island water. need to find something closer to where we live in australia.

beautiful shot & congrats on the art homepage. weird though that when I’m not logged in it’s got the ‘safety filter’ thing on it. I see nothing here that would warrant that. No…(ew) pubic region foliage. No…(shudder) nipples. Not even a mind-poisoning posterior region. Just a beautiful silhouette. If this needs to be filtered, those filtering need to look at MTV or youtube for about 10 minutes & see how impressionable eyes are marketed to these days. Take 10 ‘moral’ steps up from that and this still needn’t be filtered.
    anyway. it’s beautiful.

  • brentmail replied

thought i’d play it safe and filter it as unsafe for workplace viewing, just habit i guess. enjoy. brent

Well I still think it works a treat, murky water or not. Actually, for this one ,I think the murkiness helps to add an aura of mystery to it, sometimes you don’t need to see every goosebump on the model for the overall effect to still have a big impact!

  • brentmail replied

i guess the angle and light worked with the water, still would prefer clear water for the future.

I love it, but oh, I don’t like doing this. Got a tip for any underwater shots? Lol as in, do I need a special camera, or will a plastic baggie be okay? Ziptop of course. lmao

  • brentmail replied

depends on how valuable your camera is?

I just love this shot !! Every time I look at it more and more.
The composition, coloring and light are superb.
Clear water is hard to find these days, lol, ...
    cheers, anna

  • brentmail replied

Thx anna. I think we were very lucky with the light, fish, and models pose. Not easy when you are faced with currents, waves, sea weed plus having a naked model in the water in a public area. It all comes down to planning the shoot and then hoping for the best. Love the challenge too.
