Some Light Painting fun by

Saturday night was a very still warm night. Went out onto my favorite rockland armed with a bottle of red wine… a packet of chips and some light painting tools.

This shot was my first serious effort at light painting… I have probably spent 2 months testing different lights to understand the quality of the light. This was the first time I have used them in anger.

What was interesting about this shot is that I had totally previsualised it. I knew exactly the shot I wanted to capture and the end result is pretty close to what was in my mind for about 6 weeks.

Enjoy
Brent

Beautiful beautiful shot, Brent, I love the glow from the moon on the water. Well done on working so hard to get the result you were after!

  • Hey Mel
Thanks for your comment, when you are out on the rocks at Forresters on a gorgeous Spring evening under a full moon and you are just taking your time (as opposed to rushing around trying to capture the fleeting dawn light), It’s pretty enjoyable and doesn’t really feel like hard work.

To be honest I have enjoyed the experimentation and look forward to trying my rig out on some more subjects. Still got some refining to do, but I’m getting there.

Look forward to going out for a shoot with you one of these days.

Great image – and isn’t it wonderful when they turn out like you visualised.
& the red wine would have aided inspiration. Nice work.

I like the alien feel… other worldly.

This is a stunning shot and I love the full moon’s light on the water. A cracker of a shot and well executed. Well done.
