I have finally managed to find a simple and inexpensive way to design and print postcards!
I’ve done a series of the Ballina/Byron Bay area and a couple so far for the Queenscliff area in Victoria.
I’ve done it all online with very little technical knowledge and basic home PC equipment so if I can do it anyone can! The website is zazzle.com and they’re based in California, though I use the Australian site (.com.au). I’ve had the Ballina series postcards printed as a tester and they’re great, though not quite as heavy as I would’ve liked, and there’s no minimum amount you need to order. They’re really quick too. I had the Fed Ex man knocking on my door with my printed postcards within a week of ordering them! That’s a calendar week people. I think I ordered them on the Thursday and they arrived on the Monday.
There’s also a whole bunch of other products that you can design so the possibilities are vast. For those of us who are just trying to get a foot in the door and with little funds and knowledge and equipment its a good place to start.
