For as long as I can remember I have loved taking photos and been fascinated by cameras.
I grew up in Melton and Point Lonsdale in Victoria and after living up in Ballina and Lennox Head (near Byron Bay) for a few years, and then near Ipswich (south-west of Brisbane) for a couple more, I have come full circle and returned to Melbourne – back home on the western side of Port Phillip Bay at Point Cook.
I purchased my very first DSLR, a Canon EOS 550D, only a year ago and have been revelling in photographing pretty much anything and everything, and, while still favouring dramatic landscapes I have come to love taking candid portraits, particularly of my children Lucas and James.
I mostly enjoy photographing the natural environment, particularly landscapes featuring sky or water, and try to capture the mood of Mother Nature and the simple beauty of our environment that often we are too busy to stop and take in. I’d love to be able to create a picture that the viewer can connect with.
To quote a fellow RedBubbler – Levi Moore aka Artmonger :
“I don’t want people to see what I did, I want them to see what I saw.”
I want to learn so please feel welcome to comment and pass on any advice or criticism. Thankyou and I hope you enjoy my photos!
