Okay so this girl who looks like a man (Im sorry but she does) commented my work on myspace, saying she didnt think my images were special at all which is fair enough….
but to go on and claim there is a sense of arrogance is actually quite unnerving.
I replied saying of course there’s arrogance as I am proud and happy with the images I have and Im sure she is aswell with her’s
(she’s also a photo student, apparantly) and therfore being arrogant herself… leading to her claim having no real purpose or meaning.
so yeah…... does my work have a sense of arrogance??

Craig,
Your work, no. I think there is something intimidating about you personally though. It doesn’t indicated arrogance one way or the other, but I can see as how it might be perceived as such. I wouldn’t worry about it, it’s not a (platonic) turn-off or anything.

I don’t know you personally but I love your work and I do think it has a certain confidence which can easily be confused with arrogance. And even if you took every piece of work you had had spray painted “I am an arrogant prick” across the front of each piece, its still your work and still something to be proud of. Don’t worry about what other people think of you.

Sounds like the person involved with this is a bit up their own to be honest. you make work, ( hopefully you like your own work) , people see your work, they will either like it or not. If they see anything in it, I would say maybe the work has stirred up an emotion in them, rather than your work being this, that or the other!
