Her Pain
By: Brittany Callis

When she closes her eyes the hurt will fade
It will drift away as the night goes by
and the seas will calm her cries
She will be forever wrapped in a mystery of thorns
Entangling her, she suffers more
She hears the secrets the wind tells
The insufferable lies all about
She feels every quake of the earth
Every lightning strike of the storm
She can’t help but feel the burn of the sun
coming through the door
She knows the feeling of dark wining
and morning being conquered by the night
All is cold and all is dead
There’s nothing in her life but dread
Her thoughts are drained from the power that
caged her mind in a small bottle of pain
Un-triumphantly Winning over the insanity
of framed pictures of perfection
Rotting so fondly in a grave of mistakes and heartache
She slowly becomes nothing

now that gave me chills ,it is sad but well written
ya, I was sad a lot in my teen years… thanks Mel
Ah, the pit of teenage angst – so black “There’s nothing in her life but dread” – and the ‘this is the end nothing will ever be OK again’ tone reminds me of my own teen years……
ya..I think most people go through feeling this way.. normaly as teens.. I have so much poetry that is dark and sad from that point in my life..but I survived.. yay! lol Thanks for commenting :)
