This is another vine harcoal drawing I did in the fall of 2007 in my Drawing 1 class.
This is a portrait of the lute player Mascheroni by Annibale Carracci. Annibale (1560-1609) along with his brother formalised art teaching lessons. Hence alot of the lesson we learn today are the same ones the Carracci brothers devised.
Thank you Fiona O’Beirne for finding out who the original artist was :) You should check out her art as well :)

He looks like a spanish merchant from the old school!!!……nice sketch.
Funny that – as soon as I saw it I thought it looked like a drawing of Francis Drake – known to most Spanish merchants as El Drako the English pirate.
Whoever it is it’s great work Brit my friend
this is fantastic work, excellent as always
Your shading is dead on perfect… I love how your drawings seem to take on a life all their own…
