Brandon Oursler is from Texas. Born in Houston. It’s one of the first facts you will learn about Oursler, right after you become instant friends with his big Texas grin and firm handshake. From his big hair and 6’2” frame to his DVD collection, there is nothing small about him. He lives life like Texas – large.
Majoring in photojournalism and portrait studio management at RCC in North Carolina, Oursler interned in neighboring cities at the Daily Dispatch and Cary News. The Army National Guard handpicked him as one of their select few official photographers after he graduated, and in 2005, they brought him to Nashville, where he now calls home. The move to Nashville wasn’t an accident, however. He always intended to pursue music and advertising photography, and he loves the fresh talent pool Music City provides. He quickly got work with Warner Brothers and RCA Records doing various shoots and portraits for artists. In 2007, his work was nominated for Best Album Packaging in the Canadian County Music Awards.
Brandon’s background of portrait work really shines through in his style, which focuses on the eyes and movement of light. His warm spirit comes through in the fun nature of his shoots, and he puts his clients at ease with his down-to-earth attitude and friendly demeanor.
With his bright future, noticeable talent, and growing client list, this Texan will be hard to miss.
