My Favourite Place
This is another shot of one of the 15 month old baby lions I walked with in Zimbabwe. They were found abandoned in the wild and are now looked after in a special programme to eventually send their offspring into the wild. They are not caged, not in a zoo but they are in a massive area semi -wild in the Bush. Because they have been hand fed the two I walked with will be unable to return to the wild, but have became part of the breeding programme to re introduce more lions. Most animals have been killed to feed the population and many of the lions have moved to another area which is better stocked. eg Namibia etc.

I just love this shot Liz! I swear she is posing just for you.
Braedene replied
Well, I called her several times and she languidly turned her head for this shot!! – they did have names but I’ve forgotten them now
Braedene replied
Now I can’t remember after Al’s comment if this was the male or female – can’t remember now as they both were lying at that tree. So a he or a she but beautiful all the same.!!
Al Bourassa

Braedene replied
Isn’t he just – actually I’m not sure which was male and female when they were lying down – as they were both very alike. Thank you Al.

Oh those eyes! Have you ever thought of writing a book Liz? You’ve had so many fantastic experiences :)) PS I’d buy it!
Braedene replied
Felicity how kind you are. I have ‘several’ books in my head ( mostly of travel experiences and what has happened in my life) but because of my experiences in Zimbabwe I am writing a factual/ fiction story which I started on my return in June – It’s maybe a third of the way written now . I’ll keep you in mind as my first buyer!! Thank you so much.
