Mai Cave
After a 3 hr ride in the jungle we came to this limestone Mayan cave. This is one of the riding group repelling into this cave. I will upload another of inside this cave which was a dry cave – Two days before we canoed about half a mile into another cave with our headlamps attached !! very eerie .
This cave had swallows and bats in the entrance and a few relics from the Mayan past. It had a most unusual floor of stone, shaped like waves of the sea for one section then damp earth from the dripping stalactites on another section. Picture it very dark!!

What a laugh we had as one of the group didn’t know where to put her feet and froze on the rope – it wasn’t so far down anyway but it appeared to be very dark looking down into it! Thank you .

Great action and how brave you were. I don’t like caves.

There was an even scarier cave another day because it had a very narrow entrance and went way down into the dark – bodies there too but that’s another story. Thank you
