Marijuana Valley

After several hours through the jungle we rode into this valley – Vega valley- where until 1994 the cartels had marijuana growing in secret. . Known as Belize Breeze – the government closed it down and planted palms and luscious vegetation – only our guide ‘knew’ where some was still growing, but wouldn’t tell!!

Lol, great description! Love the POV! With the horses head and the trail in the middle. Great shot!

  • Braedene replied

That’s the head of my horse Equis- he was superb at trot, canter and gallop – when we could do it. NOT when we were in the thick of the jungle as it was too steep up and too steep down!! She didn’t really like the small rocks/ stones etc as on my first day she almost went down on all fours when we were on the (terrible) roads before we entered the jungle trails. Thank you Nathan – sometimes it’s difficult to choose from all my shots but when there’s a piece of ‘history/story’ then I hope I can bring you into the pic, as it were. Liz

Liz…Great clear unblurred shot considering that you wee ridig that horse and clicking at the same time….Correct? Well done. liz

  • Braedene replied

Yes – that’s my horse Equis – on the move !! I’ve written a long reply to Nathan why I chose that shot – a few shots were spoiled with the humidity and I didn’t notice till I got back to the lodge that there was a slight blurring with the moistness on the lens – I can’t enlarge too many as it shows the distortion. Wish I’d noticed at the time. Thank you very much. Liz

It sounds like you were disappointed that he was keeping that to himself…. lol.

  • Braedene replied

You made me laugh- he had a very secret grin on his face when we asked him if all the marijuana had been destroyed!! He just tapped his nose!! Never seen the stuff so would have liked to, especially because of the history of the valley. Liz

I like how your horse’s head is in the shot. It really completes the image. Fantastic point of view. I enjoyed reading the history you provided with the image. Nicely captured and nicely told. Well done.

  • Braedene replied
