    An Awesome creation…..

  • BradThurston replied

Hi David…thank you for your kind feedback. This was the first painting I did in this style. The idea came about after reading a fantasy trilogy. I’m hoping to refine the style and I am looking forward to bigger and better things.

Thanks Martin for your feedback. I’ve created a few more canvasses in this style, but just can seem to capture the same spirit….will have to come back at a later date and try again.

  • BradThurston replied

Hi Hologram….this painting & two others were inspired by the ‘The Soldiers Son’ trilogy by author Robin Hobb. In the book, the native people attached their dead to trees which absorbed the body and nourished the tree while the spirit remains in the tree. Maybe you can see this imagery in the canvas?

it must be a great experience see the original :)

  • BradThurston replied

Hi again Tania…It is an interesting canvas and one of three similarly themed, based on ‘The Soldiers Son’ trilogy by author Robin Hobb. My favourite is Tree Dreamers. All three canvasses went to the same buyer.

Your art is like a communication tools, in this case you’ve painted its essence rather than the subject. Superb !

  • BradThurston replied

Hey Ming…thank you for your comments….I believe that art is a tool for communication, and open to individual interpretation. I love that as artists, we can throw some paint on a canvas and call it anything we want.
