I am a self taught artist working from my home on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia. My paintings are predominately abstract in design. I start out with an idea in mind, but more often than not, the final work is very different from that initial idea. I enjoy the process of building on the canvas and I often have to stop myself from over applying…..I think that most artists struggle with the concept of when is enough enough.
I love to experiment with acrylic paint, different textures and varying styles and I think that this can be seen in the body of my work. I enjoy using heavy bodied acrylic paints applied with a spatula.
My short term goal is to have my own studio/gallery where I can paint and display my art for public viewing. My long term goal is to establish an artists co-op on the Sunshine Coast where emerging artist like myself can come to paint, to learn and to display their art.
It is my dream to one day be a recognized artist, but until then, I continue to put my works out for the public to view and hope for the best.
I love this quote from Henry Ward Beecher “Every artist dips his brush in his own soul and paints his own nature into his pictures.”
