This guy was playing hard to get!! I stood watching through the camera as he rested on a pylon with the sun directly behind in the background. I wanted him to fly off the pylon and I would capture his wings spread in flight and the sun right behind. As we all know as soon as you take your eye off the subject…well it happened, I looked down to adjust the tripod and he flew!

I watched him fly about 100 feet and land on the sea wall…so I walked over and grabbed my 20D with the 10-22mm and just walked right up to him and made him fly… I got the shot!
