I got up one Saturday morning to go and capture a shot that I had seen whilst traveling to work at a school one winter morning during the week. The scene I remember was of a church spire and some trees rising out of the morning mist, but when I got there on the Saturday morning, there was no mist, but only a light covering of snow. The pink of the morning sky started showing through and I got my camera out. The subtle morning brought life to this small hamlet in the Lincolnshire countryside, near Sleaford. What a wonderfully cold morning. My feet were frozen by the time I got back to the car.

Thank you so much my friend. When I got up to go take pictures that morning, I wasn’t convinced that the sky would be good enough… There was too much cloud where I was in Newark, but as it turned out, it was a beautiful start to a day, despite there being no fog like the previous mornings.
Nicely done Shawn…didn’t Sleaford get to minus 16 last week?
I think it probably did, but this was about two weekends ago now…. it was still bloomin’ cold. (-6 or -7 I’m thinking). Thanks bud… I bet you have had some wonderful weather where you are…. Just a question, are there any green lanes there that you can take a land rover along?
lovely shot, bet you are glad now you got up so early
I was indeed. Thank you so very much Judy. I appreciate the compliment greatly. It wasn’t what I was expecting or even hoping for, but it turned out very nice none the less. Blessings my friend.

Beautiful shot. Worth your feet being frozen for that one. The HDR process looks great.
