I decided to go out for a walk where we live in Newark, Nottinghamshire in the heartland of middle England. It had recently snowed and though I was unable to go out and about in the countryside, I chose to take some lovely winter shots of our town. One place I have wanted to photograph is the view of the railway lines on the bridge leading out of town towards Lincoln. This is the spot I want to photograph the next steam train that makes it’s way through Newark, so I decided to see what the view just might be. Very soon after taking this shot, a thick fog rolled in and then it started to snow more. I shot this as a HDR to capture the dramatic afternoon sky and the lovely texture of the snow that covered the line.
