Lindisfarne Castle and parts of the island are cared for by the National Trust
It was raining and windy when we arrived. Whilst on holiday in Northumberland, Northern England, the family and I decided to spend the day at Lindisfarne, also known to many as Holy Island. The weather wasn’t the best at first, but soon the weather eased up and we enjoyed walking around the island and taking in the views. We stopped at a hotel pub to get a hot drink and warm up just before leaving the island. Out the window, I noticed the view from at the bottom of the garden and thought to myself, “I really need to get a shot o that.” Having only a few moments before leaving, I shot this as a HDR to capture all the tones and textures. I like how it has turned out in the end. The contrast of the cottage and Lindisfarne castle really appeals to me. Please view large.
