Druridge Bay is part of the National Trust nature preserve.
Whilst on holiday in Northumberland, we stayed near a stretch of beach known as Druridge Bay, a 7 miles long coastal bay which stretches from Amble in the north to Cresswell in the south.
Northumberland Coast Country Park is situated within the bay, and part of the bay is owned by the National Trust. Areas within the bay are set aside as nature reserves. I got up very early one morning to capture the gorgeous sunrise, but looking at the sky, I wasn’t sure that I was going to get much of a sunrise because of the cloud cover. I traveled to the bay on the National Trust nature preserve and then made my way to the beach. By that time the sky was beginning to show and the clouds broke. I took quite a few shots before and as the sun began to rise. I have more shots of the bay before sunrise, but I have put this one up first because I think it is so striking. I took this panoramic (made up of multiple shots) just after the sun rose over the horizon. The contours on the surface of the sand which hold pools of water made for a lovely reflection of the blue sky above. For me, this is such a tactile image and a gorgeous scene to photograph. What a lovely stretch of beach. Please view large to enjoy all the beauty and majesty of that morning.
