I was asked by one of the schools that I work closely with if I would like to help out on a school bike ride following the old railway line which has been turned into a cycle/walking path between Newark and Cotham, a village about 5 miles or so away, here in Nottinghamshire in England. It was a wonderful day out. We traveled the path to the end which is just under an underpass. On the wall was this interesting piece of graffiti. I am unsure of what it says, but to me it looks like RAZOR. I like the colours and how they stand out. We do see a lot of tagging around, but I enjoy pieces like this. An alternative title for this was going to be “The Modern Canvas”

    Awesome Bradley. Don.

  • Thank you my friend. What a fantastic encourager you are. This isn’t my usual subject to photograph, but I was just taken with it. Such great colours.

Very interesting! I’m not quite sure what is the point of Graffiti that you can’t read, but I guess as an abstract piece of art it has its own merits. Great capture, the colours have come our nice and bright!

  • Thank you G. It is fabulous as a piece of art work as you say. Since not many see it here, perhaps this is just a practice piece? LOL! I appreciate the compliment my friend.

Wonderful colours and details, graffiti can be anti-social sometimes but the artists are very talented!!

  • I know what you mean. If only they could just harness the talent and put it on canvas instead, then they could probably sell it for hundreds if not thousands. Anyway, thank you greatly my friend. Say, are you up for a meet in the Derbyshire Peaks sometime soon?

Great find and a wonderful capture. Certainly is an art and very nice colours. Really well done mate.

  • I am pleased that I went along on the ride, and that I found this. Graffiti is not something I usually take photos of, but I am finding it quite enjoyable.

I agree with you Shawn that these pieces can be very artistic. Love the vibrancy of the colours….now if we could just direct them to a piece of canvas!! LOL

  • Absolutely. Thank you my dear friend. I am now always on the look for artistic graffiti. It annoys my wife. LOL!

I like it! A lot. The colours just pop right out at you and grab your attention before your eye takes a wander over the rest of it. Well done with this Shawn!

  • Thank you for the wonderful compliment. It really is an attention grabber. I just wish I knew what it said. I appreciate the encouragement my friend.

well captured and framed, im drawn straight to the middle and it keeps me there, i love graffiti when its art and this is awesome. well done :-)

  • I agree. It is so much more interesting than the tagging that you usually see, which is more like trash on the wall. I really appreciate the compliment my friend, as I really respect your opinion in this area. Thanks for stopping by. Nice to here from you.
