"Breaking Through The Storm" by

Whilst searching through my catalogue of images stored on disk and my hard drive, I came across this old favourite. I can’t believe I have not put this up before now. I was in the Derbyshire Peak District (National Park) when I took this magnificent shot, somewhere down a country lane off the main road between the villages of Eyam and Litton. As I tuned off the A623 and then turned off Thunderpit lane, I found this lovely little barn in ruin, something commonly seen in the Peak District. There were sheep all around it, but they moved off once I climbed over the fence into the field. With the rain coming down, I was setting up to get some lovely storm shots, but I noticed the sun trying to break through the clouds, so I waited. Then it happened! The rays of the setting sun pierced through and melted away the storms hold revealing all the glorious colour from behind though menacing cumulous formations. Hope was restored, if but for only a moment.

Beautiful shot with great photoshop work. Wonderful scene.

  • Thank you for the great compliment. I am not sure what photoshoping you mean. I did use PS, but only to very slightly lift the shadow from the barn in the foreground, but only slightly noticeable for me. This is all nature in all it’s glory. I appreciate the encouragement.
