Taken on 1/1/2010
I just wanted to capture the first sunrise of 2010. I went out this morning to find the perfect landscape to compose my sunrise photo. The morning mist and cold hung heavy in the air. The clouds were starting to get thick and I thought I wouln’t get a chance to see the sun rise. Then, about 10 min before the sun rose, the skies began to clear. I stopped at a bend, just before the bridge into the village of Kelham, in Nottinghamshire, not far at all from Newark where I live. In the distance is the Sugar Factory, one of the few left in England, and one of the main employers around here. The rising steam from the sugar production and the ice puddles in the foreground sets the scene beautifully. What a glorious morning. Here is wishing you a very Happy and Prosperous New Year. God bless.
