After spending time photographing Borough Market, George and I decided to walk across London Bridge over the Thames River, and on up King William Street towards the Wellington statue and the Bank of England Museum. As we rouned the corner just over the bridge, i spotted this lovely London city views with the underground sign, as much of an iconic symbol of London as the traditional double decker buses and black cabs. I suppose I was also inspired by my little boy’s favourite childrens programme, Underground Ernie…. LOL! Once again, I made a nuisance of myself to passers by.

It was worth the hassle! :-) And since I was there I can verify that HDR is not a luxury in this shot. The high contrast between the sunlit areas and the dark building make this shot impossible to expose correctly!

  • Thank you for that my brilliant friend. I appreciate the support and encouragement. It was a difficult one to do, but I like what I ended up with. I can’t wait to go to London again with you some time.

The Underground sign looks like a target for the eyes and makes a great focal point. Well done, Shawn!

  • Thank you greatly my friend. You are right, as the sign was the target of the shot. It is the real quintessential London city shot. I appreciate the compliment.
