Quiet Hero

A lightning flash twinkle,
Between crow feet wrinkles,
Made hearts always tingle,
While children Laughed and giggled.

With a pretense towards rough,
That hid a gentler touch,
Giving a chance to those he loved,
To see through all his gruff.

Fully Loving Life,
Never much idle time,
Except for week-end drives,
And Outdoor Theaters by nine.

Got interested in movies,
When 007 threw me,
With the booms, babes and action scenes,
Dad and I both got a kick from these.

With classic good looks,
Which I took all that I could,
From a man that made it a point,
Of always looking good.

Last December came a day,
My Dad had to go away,
And I wonder at night as I lay,
Does God know he has a quiet hero coming his way?
